With the 30 Days of Nothing Challenge over a collective sigh of relief has rushed through the house. Phew…br /”It’s not September, Mom,” is what I have been hearing from my deprived tween…er…children. I think they missed the quick trips to Sonic for 1/2 priced slushies or a run for ice cream on weekends. They didn’t know how good they had it until they didn’ /br /On Saturday, October 1st, as a reward we took the family to…wait for it…br /Subway! I used my PTA card for BOGO subs i{Buy 1, 6 inch sub and get one free}/i!nbsp;Ooooh…we’re big /br /All I can say is thank goodness it is October because it is one of my favorite months of the year. Aside from my apparent allergy to ragweed that has turned into a head cold, I love the colors, the weather and the countdown to Thanksgiving and /br /I’m on a quest to find ways to cut costs and one of them is our landline phone. I may be one of the few people on earth that still has one, but we use it for local calls only and our fax machine. i{Yes, we still use one of those, too.}nbsp;/ibr /br /While on the 30 day challenge I decided to test out the MagicJack. You know the one on the infomercial? Apparently you can now use it without a computer (internet router only) and port your home number. We are in the free trial period before we have to pay for the unit. If it works out, the cost will save us hundreds a year.
