We have been hearing a LOT about the a href=”http://www.daveramseyroad.com/2011/06/bank-of-america-gets-foreclosed-in-fl.html”issues /athat people have with Bank of America. nbsp; The one thing we hear over and over is “bIt is not a matter of ‘if’ you will have issues with BoA, but ‘when’./b”br /br /Recently, we got a letter in the mail stating that our original ifree/i checking account we signed up with was no longer going to exist. Rather, we were now going to get a new account and with it inew fees/i. i{Well, we would get fees if we didn’t jump through a few hoops and do somersaults at least once a month.}/ibr /br /Up until that letter, we have had no problems with Bank of America. nbsp;I actually like their online banking and automatic payments. nbsp;It was easy to use. But our b”when”nbsp;/bhad arrived and we had one month before we were getting b”upgraded”/b to the new checking account. nbsp;So I have been in the process of transferring ALL our bills, deposits, and automatic payments over to USAA.br /br /Honestly, it’s been a hassle and I think banks know this. It would have been easier just to leave it and I have for months. It has taken me weeks to transfer ALL the different auto payments we had set up with our debt card. We also have had some big payments that needed to be paid during this transition. Plus, I had to factor in that we could be charged fees for stopping direct deposit so the timing had to work out to avoid this. Crazy, huh?!?br /br /This is the week we will walk in to the Big Box Bank and shut our account! I’m sure we are going to get a lot of freebies thrown our way to not close it.br /br /Our strategy to avoid this?br /br /Walk in with three kids hyped up on some sugar and nbsp;they’ll want to get us out of their office ASAP. nbsp;Think it’ll work?br /a href=”http://www.aghdesigns.com/images/blogs/siggy4.png” target=”_blank”img alt=”Anna” border=”0″ src=”http://www.aghdesigns.com/images/blogs/siggy4.png” //a
