Have you ever been in love with an electronic gadget? I never have until I got this phone!! It is the HTC Evo for Sprint. Why do I like it so much? Well, it saves me money!!

You may be wondering how this phone saves me money…I’ll get to that.

First, the most obvious question is “How much was it?” It was about $200 {$400 if you don’t qualify for an upgrade}. Boy was I so happy that I did not upgrade my phone back in May when hubby had to replace his. Because I use my phone for my design business, I was able to purchase it through my company funds {can you say tax write-off?}

Second, the next question is “How much is the monthly plan?” Well, it depends on how many phones you have on your plan. I think the monthly plan is about $130 a month. It’s a complete data package plan that includes everything. I say “I think” because we are still in the process of changing from old plan to new and they royally messed up the change so I have not received an actual correct amount.

Here is how it saves me money {and time}…

There are many free apps you can get for this phone. If you have an iPhone, you may be familiar with some of them. One of them is a price checker app. It scans a bar code and then will search on the web and locally to see what other prices are available. Not only can I find out where I can get it cheaper, but I don’t have to waste gas going store-to-store. Another app I have is called Key Ring. It allows you to put all those store loyalty key card numbers in one place. If I don’t have my keys with all those codes, I just look it up on my phone and the cashier scans it and voila purchase recorded! I also have a Redbox app where I can look up any codes for free movie rentals. LOVE FREE!!

Last night I had to run to the grocery store and decided to go to a Redbox to look for a movie. The one I wanted to see was not there. I did not want to go to Blockbuster and rent it for $5, but then my husband suggested the Blockbuster Express kiosk at the grocery store. I quickly looked to see if there was an app for free codes, but there was not. I was resigned to pay the $1 {have you figured out how cheap I am, yet?} I found the movie and was ready to checkout when I realized that I could look up for a free code online. I quickly put a search in and there were several codes! I quickly punched it in and it worked!! I got to see the movie for free!

Woo Hoo…oh yeah…uh huh…

*Ahem* Sorry, I get a little excited when I save money.

I am still learning the ins and outs of this phone, but I have to say it has been TOTALLY worth the investment. If you’ve got any apps that you love…pass ’em on to me.

*I have not been compensated for my praise of this fabulous phone. But if Sprint would like to give me another one for my poor hubby who is stuck with his crappy replacement until 2012, I’d be happy to oblige!
