At first I was going to talk about how much I hate food. Okay, I take that back I love food when it is cooked for me, but I don’t like it when I am the one making it every day. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a great cook{and I’m humble, too} but it’s just not my favorite thing to do. I have a lot of other things that I’d rather be doing with my time.

My latest time-consuming addiction is Pinterest. Have you heard of it? I started seeing people talk about it a few months ago. I like to learn about new things on the computer so I signed up. At first I didn’t quite get what the fuss was all about. People are pinning pictures onto a virtual bulletin board. Yippee. Then one night, when I couldn’t sleep, I looked into it a little more closely. Not only are you pinning things onto your board BUT the pinned item is linked to the website that tells you how to make, get, buy, the thing you pinned!

This was phenomenal! I began pinning all of the DIY home improvement ideas that I would like to someday do {or direct someone else to do}.  I am usually found trolling the food section trying to find easy meals and treats to make for my hungry family.

The first thing I made that was on Pinterest was banana ice cream.

Oh.My.YUM!!

I was so inspired that I concocted my own healthy treat the next night!

Cut up Bananas, several spoonfuls of peanut butter, granola and chocolate chips. Heavenly! {And sorta healthy…right?}

Why am I telling you about Pinterest?

Because I found myself wanting to go out to Ace Hardware and get some paint for this look that I have pinned to one of my boards:

I just LOVE those black doors! I have been wanting to try this for a while, but I wasn’t too sure because I cannot paint the inner section of my doors. Today, I wanted to go to the store and pick up some paint and cheat on my No Spend September! For Doors!

It was a little startling to discover that my urge to spend was on something that is soooooo not necessary. It was just a want that came up as I looked at my very white {yet smudged with red dirt thanks to the dog} doors. Sheesh!

What are some of the little things you find wanting to spend money on?
